Challenges & Future Plans

Some of our major challenges and constraints include:

Short Term Challenges

Challenges with transport for outreach activities Stipends for volunteers’ stipends Delayed release of funds from donors for service provision Sudden increase of targets with no funding support Inadequacy of service forms for data collection

Mid Term Challenges

Inability to sustain volunteers due to inadequate stipends Staff Attrition due to inadequate remuneration with many assignments Slow and late collection of service data due to staff and volunteer attrition Long Term Challenges Inadequate infrastructure (office building) to cope with the increasing number of volunteers and staff Sudden stoppage of funding from donor without adequate information to partners Lack quality data due to poor data collection and collation Future Plans: LIWOM will continue to fund, mentor, train, monitor and evaluate the activities of our community based partner projects. Our future plan is to enable, empower and capacitate other collaborating community based CSOs to become autonomous and self-sustaining in their OVC response while ensuring sustainable strategy for service provision. We plan to strengthen and expand community based Income Generating Projects. Increase access to ART information and treatment for rural communities within Iwajowa and Ibarapa Communities etc. The establishment of IGA center for OVC and their household response
