Approach & Strategy

LIWOM has a well established reputation for employing community mobilization and participatory approaches to prevention, care and support. Our core strategy revolves around targeted community based initiatives and grassroots interventions. To minimize dependency and ensure long-term sustainability of our programmes, we train women and men of rural communities to educate, care for and support people living in their own communities. By empowering local people we enable our communities to better cope with the effects of HIV and AIDS. LIWOM is currently providing technical expertise, mentorship and financial support to over 6 community based partner projects throughout Oyo State.
